Strategic development secures Chevron contract
Chevron Upstream Europe awarded a contract to
Weir Oil & Gas Aberdeen for the provision of pump inspection
and maintenance services. Chevron Upstream Europe's
operations include the Captain Field that started producing in 1977
and the Alba platform discovered in 1984, brought on stream
in 1994.
The scope of the contract includes the
provision of onshore workshop repairs, comprehensive engineering
service for equipment modifications, technical support involving
investigations and consultancy services and a full suite of
offshore engineering services including optimisation of pump units
and service performance.
The contract is a key strategic development
for Weir Oil & Gas Aberdeen as it was awarded following the
success of two highly production critical upgrades for the Captain
field where extensive technical expertise and experience was used
to meet tight delivery schedules to ensure the units were
successfully commissioned and operating.
Gary Cochrane, Operations Manager, Weir Oil
& Gas Aberdeen said " This contract is testament to the
excellent technical expertise, strategic planning and delivery
within the team enabling us to build a solid relationship with
Chevron. We look forward to developing the relationship and
working hard to deliver further value to their operations."
