Steam Turbine Rotor Project
Amco Weir in Saudi Arabia has been awarded a
contract by Aramco’s mechanical service division to refurbish a
complete steam turbine rotor. The steam turbine blades and the
supervision for the final assembly and inspection will be provided
by the Barton unit of the Weir Power & Industrial Division. The
project is due for completion towards the end of 2009. This
will be the first time such a refurbishment is carried out in Saudi
Arabia and complies with the Kingdom Government’s Saudisation
program, a national policy that encourages employment of Saudi
nationals in the private sector.
