Rapid repairs for vital pipeline
The Weir Oil & Gas Services Deer Park team
has been awarded a contract from Kinder Morgan Energy Partners, the
largest transporter of petroleum products and liquid C02 in the
United States. The company is the second largest oil producer in
Texas and the largest independent terminal operator in the United
States, operating more than 37,000 pipelines in North America. Weir
Oil & Gas repaired a critical Peerless 48” vertical turbine
booster pump located at the KMP pipeline station in Pasadena,
Texas, where product is transported from the KMP tank farm to the
main pipeline. Kinder Morgan would have failed delivery obligations
to their customers and limit the ability to take vital product
deliveries into the terminal if downtime was extended in excess of
4-6 days. Weir Oil & Gas Services provided technical guidance
and project management around the clock in order to limit the
delivery cycle. The unit repairs were complete in the specified
timeline and the unit returned to operation without any lost
opportunities for Kinder Morgan.
